Here I hope to provide you with answers to the most commonly asked questions about Paltalk as it relates to the Opie and Anthony show.

Q: What is paltalk and how can I use it to see the show?
A: Paltalk is a video chat program that has been around for 5+ years and in January of 2006 Anthony began broadcasting from the O&A Studio during their XM Radio show.  Fans of the show can interact with the members of the program via chat and camera.  More info on this page.

Q: I have a Mac - can I see the show on Paltalk?
A: Unfortunately Paltalk is not available for the Mac or Linux and as of this writing there are no plans to make clients that will work with either operating system.  You'll need Windows to use Paltalk.  Mac users with Virtual PC can use Paltalk via that method of course or by installing Windows on the newer, intel based MACS :)

Q: What camera's are related to the show?
A: Opant is the studio camera, Opant1 (when it is running) is the "Bullpen" or "Office" camera.  Opant2 is up an running as of 3/1/06 from Eric's computer and it looks like we will have a better view of show guests. 

Q: Why can't I hear the callers when I listen to the show on Paltalk?
A: If you only listen to the microphone from the OPANT camera you won't be able to hear the callers or any audio bits that they play on the show.  Tune in to the XM stream to hear those portions of the show.  If you are an XM Subscriber you can listen to the stream over the net by going to XMRADIO.COM and clicking on the "Listen Live" link.

Q: Why is the audio from the Studio ahead of the audio coming over my XM radio or the stream?
A: Since the Paltalk video is coming over the internet it is usually around 30 seconds ahead of the XM stream.  There is also a small delay to account for the need to be able to 'dump' audio on the XM feed is someone in the room or on the phone says something slanderous (this had only happened once in the first 18 months so it is a very rare thing).

Q: Why does the room get muted when they are on commercial break sometimes?
A: When Anthony leaves the studio during a break he usually 'mutes' his microphone.  He may also do it at times when the people in the studio are discussing things they don't want to be heard by the people in the Paltalk room.  Just be patient and Anthony will turn the microphone back on in a few minutes.

Q: What are the 'rules' when in the O&A live room?
A: DON'T harass the female members of the Paltalk room, DON'T private message Anthony (Opant), DON'T be a jerk, doing any of these things will result in you being bounced from the room by Anthony or one of the other room admins.

Q: Who are the room Admins?
A: You can identify the room admins in the "opie and Anthony Live!" room by the @ symbol in front of their names.

Q: Can I be an admin to help out the guys?
A: No, and don't ask.

Q: I got 'bounced" what can I do?
A: First of all, were you breaking one of the rules?  If so, you might just sit and wait 24 hours and try again the next day.  If you feel it was a mistake you might log in to another O&A room and see if someone there can contact and Admin to help you get back in the room. 

Q: Does Anthony, or anyone else from the show, read the chat in the room?
A: Anthony is a busy man, on a internationally heard satellite radio show, while he does read and chat in the room at times, most of the time he is just looking at the women in the room.

Q: Can I block others from seeing my video?
A: According to some users on Paltalk you can indeed block users from seeing you by clicking on their name in a chat room and then selecting "block" from the list of options.  I have not tested this but I guess it would work, of course when you are room with 600 people blocking just one might be a pain.

Q: What are those "Wow" (or other) show related things I see on some people's videos?
A: Paltalk allows you to load 'overlays' on your video with the newest release.  Paltalk comes with a standard set but you can also import your own.  The files are 'flash' files and have the extension of "swf"  I have created a few for anyone to use and you can fine them (currently) listed on the from page of the site here.

Q: Are the cameras on in the CBS Studios??
A: So far the cameras are not on in the CBS Studios - they are working on it according to Anthony - stay tuned!!!!

Q: Where is the audio in the "Live Room" during the CBS Show?
A: Ant usually streams the show audio from the studio - but he obviously (as of now) isn't in the room during the CBS show - so unless someone else is streaming it there won't be audio.  If there is a red "do not enter" type of icon by every name the only people that can broadcast audio is an admin.

Q: What is this BAAA thing and how can I be one?
A:  Baaa is the sound that the Brainwashed Uber Fan's make when worshipping Opie and Anthony.  Though not technically a Paltalk thing enough people in Paltalk ask about it that I figured I should post a link to more info.  This thread explains it all and you can also post there to ask for your own BUF #.
