Jan/Feb 2006 - Scott Ferrall

Here is a brief history of the 'attack' on Scott Ferral by the "O&A Army."

Scott Ferrall met the guys when they were at WNEW in New York.  According to Opie, he actually helped get Scott hired on at the station and they considered him a 'friend' and he had called in more than once to the O&A show when it began on XM.  Also according to O&A they were trying to get Scott some type of show on XM but those plans had stalled in late 2005.

On January 10th, 2006 Anthony posted a very angry message on wackbag.com ripping into Ferrall for a message he (Scott) apparently put on his personal website (scottferrall.net).  Here is the a portion of the text that was on Scott's site (Howard Stern had his Sirius debut the day before):
 

"Stern's debut was huge on SIRIUS-talk about a machine-their going to crush people..He'll blow away XM and O&A-EASILY!"

Anthony felt that if Scott was such a close friend as he claimed, there was no need to single the O&A show out on his little blurb.

The next day (1/11/06), Scott (or someone working for him) removed the statement without comment and soon after put up this statement:
 

Ferrall has ABSOLUTELY NO ILL WILL OR BAD INTENTIONS towards anyone-including OPIE and ANTHONY-or anyone involved w/ their great show..I have always-and will continue to love them and their staff and show-per usual..I do think SIRIUS and STERN are doing a way better job selling their product.. It never meant that I didn't still love the boys-and love going on..I have been friends w/ them since the day I met them-they've been great to me and I support their cause and continue to PROMOTE THEM and the WACKBAGGERS on my FOX SHOW-FOR NO REASON---I've promoted Jimmy's comedy tours..I'm cool w/ Ben and Steve and have NEVER SCREWED ANYONE..I wish I was on EVERYDAY w/ them..that's the truth-and they know it-ask their agent? If they don't believe that-then offer me a gig and see if I turn it down!

THREATS AGAINST MY WIFE AND SON AND FAMILY ARE UNACCEPTABLE and uncool

I even got my entire family XM's for XMAS-so you must be nuts!

I have never publicly (or on-air) said a bad word about Greg or Anthony EVER-

I'm not stupid! I've tried, through O&A, to get hired their for two years..I'm on XM ch 142 and enjoy being on-why would I screw that up?

Other people blew this shit up-NOT ME! I haven't gone on their 100 times for my health-I do it because I love doing it..and yes, I have other's help me often w/ this site and the yahoo group, but no one I work w/ hates the show-they all listen frequently,.

As I recall - this statement stayed on the site for a few days and then went away.  Scott never called in (on air) to the O&A show but the topic was pretty much dropped on the show and wackbag.  While not officially 'forgiven' - the matter was dropped.

time passes...... then a month later around February 8th this appears on his site.....

With that the 'attack' began and that friday night Scott took many many calls from O&A 'pests' who called in to sabatage his shot.  It worked too, Scott spent most of his time dumping calls and ranting about O&A.

Scott was also given a trial by Howard so he was on Sirius 101 M-F the next week from 8pm to 11pm.  40+ callers got through on Monday, 50+ on Tuesday and somewhere around 30 on Wednesday.  On Thursday Scott pretty much stopped taking calls and of 10 or so calls he took, over half were 'pests.'  On Friday the results were the same.

The O&A pests used Paltalk to coordinate the call ins and listen to the results.  Sirus had a 'cease and dessist' order sent to Paltalk on Friday to keep the pests from streaming the show.   This was answered by the pests with a 'plan B' that allowed them to still listen to the show on Friday and coordinate their 'attack."

After Fridays show Scott removed all references to Howard Stern from his site and the assumption was (and is as of this writing) that his chance to be on Howard 101 was a flop since he could not take calls, a major part of his normall radio show.

The pests were not to be stopped however.  They then called him on his Fox Sports shows on the following Saturday and he shut down the phones on that show as well.

As of this writing (Sunday 2/19/2006) Scott sounds like a beaten man and is having to do his radio show without the use of phone calls unless thay are from people he personally knows.
